Airlines to operate daily flights from Varanasi to Kathmandu and Khajuraho
Indian Airlines would be operating daily flights from Varanasi for Kathmandu
and Khajuraho with effect from 15 September 2006. The Varanasi-Kathmandu-Varanasi
flight would depart Varanasi at 1310 arriving Kathmandu at 1420 and subsequently
departing Kathmandu at 1510 with arrival in Varanasi at 1550. The next
flight departing Varanasi would be at 1640.
Similarly, the Delhi-Khajuraho-Varanasi flight would depart Delhi at
1140 arrive Khajuraho at 1250 and further depart for Varanasi at 1330
with arrival at 1410. The return flight from Varanasi would be at 1450
arrival/ departure Khajuraho at 1530/ 1610 and finally arriving into Delhi
at 1720.
Jet
Airways announces direct Delhi-Singapore service
Recently, Jet Airways announced the launch of its new international flight
linking New Delhi with Singapore, thereby making it the first Indian carrier
to provide three direct services between Singapore and the metros of Chennai,
Mumbai and now New Delhi.
Jet and SWISS announce frequent flyer
partnership
Jet Airways and Swiss International Air Lines have entered into a reciprocal
Frequent Flyer Programme alliance, which will benefit frequent flyers
of both airlines. Now, all Jet Privilege members will be able to accrue
and redeem JPMiles on all SWISS-operated flights

Sahara to scale the Great Wall
The born-again Air Sahara is going for a big leap and has announced plans
to fly past the Great Wall this November, becoming the first private Indian
carrier to start direct flights to China. The airline has sought the government
nod to start a direct daily operation between Delhi and Guangzhou from
November 7, Air Sahara president Alok Sharma said.
Besides China, two other international destinations - Maldives and Bangladesh
- will be added to the Air Sahara network in the winter schedule this
year. Sharma said the airline would start operations to 14 new destinations
- including the three international routes - between August 18 and December
16. He said the airline would operate a daily flight to Maldives through
Colombo, besides connecting Dhaka via Kolkata. In addition, new domestic
destinations like Port Blair, Nagpur, Thiruvananthapuram and Udaipur would
be added to its network.
British
Airways enhances flight frequency from Bangalore
With effect from October 30, 2006, British Airways will increase the number
of flights from six to seven per week. The new flight BA118 will depart
from Bangalore International Airport at 0645 hours [London time], and
arrive at London Heathrow at 1230 hours. The return flight will depart
from London at 0130 hours and reach Bangalore at 0445 hours the following
day.
