Hotels all set to spread its wings
InterGlobe Hotels, a joint venture by InterGlobe Enterprises and Accor
Hotels, has recently acquired sites at Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune,
Jaipur and Hyderabad to set up Ibis branded economy hotels. Construction
has already started at the sites in Gurgaon and Pune and the hotels are
expected to become operational in another 15 to 18 months. The hotels
will be room focused and will provide one restaurant, one bar, one meeting
room, one conference and fitness centre for the convenience of the target
corporate travellers. Also, Accor is planning to develop more hotels under
Novotel and Sofitel brands, following the opening of Novotel Hyderabad
in May 2006.
IHHR to open 5 new hotels in India
by 2009
Under an expansion plan, Ananda's owning company, Indian Hotels and Health
Resorts will open five new hotels in India over the next three years.
The company will set up hotels under the brand name 'Ista', in Hyderabad,
Pune, Amritsar and Ahmedabad. It will also open its second hotel in Bangalore,
which will have 70 rooms. The Hyderabad hotel, to be constructed on a
15-acre plot, will debut in July 2007. The company will also open its
destination spa resort, Shanti Ananda Maurice, in Mauritius this December.

Chatwal to open his 'Dream' hotels in India
Prominent Indian American Indian hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal will invest
Rs. 10 billion [$215 million] on bringing his "Dream" range
of boutique hotels to five Indian cities and hopes to have at least three
up and running less than two years from now. "We are looking at properties
in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. We should close at
least three deals by the end of the year and have them running 18 months
from then," Chatwal said. Each hotel will have 200-400 beds.
